"The best I have owned" 2010-10-16
By A regular guy (New York)
I had a hard time deciding between this leaf blower and the echo PB-500H so I finally bought the echo because it was at home depot and it was more convenient. But after using it once, experiencing the lack of power and the incredibly loud noise of the engine, I went back to home depot and returned it. I then bought this one and I love it. It is a clearly superior piece of engineering. It is comparatively quiet , it purrs, and is so powerful that I have to be careful not to get the nozzle too close to the grass because it tears it off the ground. A power well needed for wet leaves. The fact that I don't have to deal with mixing the oil in the gaz is another big plus. I look forward to the saturday mornings when I am going to blow the leaves of my garden.

Makita BBX7600 Commercial Grade 75.6cc 4-Stroke Gas-Powered 195 mph Backpack Blower

Makita BHX2500 Commercial Grade 24.5cc 4-Stroke Gas-Powered 145 mph Handheld Blower

This is the second Makita 4-stroke blower purchase I made and I could not be more satisfied!

I now have both these Makita 4-stroke blowers.

I had purchased the Makita BHX2500 4-stroke handheld blower in March 2009 and used it for commercial use on residential properties for 2 seasons. It has excellent power, very reliable, easy to start, excellent throttle control, plus great on gas. It has seen a lot of use in 2 seasons, still going strong and it IS a commercial grade blower. Most lawn care companies are very resistant to using 4-stroke hand-held power equipment and may think the Makita's are not commercial grade but I'll repeat these blowers ARE commercial grade.

I wanted a 4-stroke backpack blower so based on my excellent experience with the Makita BHX2500 I purchased the Makita BBX7600 4-stroke backpack blower.

First off the $399.99 price w/free shipping at Amazon was the best I found and shipping was super fast.

Assembly was very easy and straightforward, only the tube had to be assembled, the hand throttle control put on it, then backstrap clipped on. I put in Mobil 1 oil, gas ( no mixing oil and gas) primed it, put the choke on and it started on the first pull. I was impressed with sound of the big 75cc engine, and the fit and finish of the blower. It is very well made like the smaller handheld blower. Large gas tank, runs 80 minutes according to Makita.

I put the blower on and the weight and feel was about what I expected. The throttle control handle swivels nicely and the engine revs up very smoothly to full power. Very little vibration. As with the smaller Makita BHX2500 you have total full-range throttle control which is a trait all 4-stroke engines have. Two-stroke engines have very poor throttle control below half throttle. If you want to get leaves out of a mulched flower bed without blowing out the mulch throttle the blower to slightly above idle, no need to feather the throttle as with a 2-stroke blower. This model also has the throttle hold to hold the throttle in one place should you have a large area to clear.

Blowing power- while it may not be the most powerful backpack blower on the market, I gotta believe it's in the top 5. It packs plenty of wallup to move piles of leaves and clean-out flower beds. You can blow large leaf piles from a 10' distance or more and cover a large area. If your blowing leaves away from a fence it is best to keep the fence to your right side where the blower tube is.

All in all this was a excellent purchase, this is commercial unit and made to last. If you buy this for home use believe me your neighbors will want to borrow it after seeing what it can do.

 "great blower" 2010-09-19
By crodgers
This is a great blower. I had a craftsman professional blower purchased about 10 years ago. When it finally died, and the repair cost was over 700 dollars, I decided to shop around. After a lot of research, I decided on this blower because of the 4 stroke engine and the power. I couldn't be happier. I have massive oak trees on my property and the massive number of acorns and debris these trees dump is a challenge to keep up with. This blower has handled every last bit perfectly. I couldn't be happier. Easy to start, runs without a problem, offers great power, and great convenience being that it is 4 stroke. While the price is high, especially for a homeowner and not a professional, if you do spend many hours working to keep your yard beautiful, this blower will be a great tool for you and well worth the additional dollars. I looked at home depot and lowes to see what was available, but those blowers were weak and seemed cheaply made, not to mention that the variety was all but non-existent.

We bought this to clear snow off our Lexus Dealerships lot cars. It works great and the fact that there is no gas oil mix is the sole reason we bought it. The valets only have to add gas so they can't mess it up!

 "A HORRIBLE BLOWER" 2009-11-24
By D. Kaufman
Paid nearly 500.00 for this blower. My experience,,Bought Blower used for two months.Treated it so delicate too and maintained..Key word here is two months..Than it died one day ! No reason..Brought it to a MAKITA Authorized shop..Who really dont even know how to fix them but they are where you have to bring it to get warranty..

Well they had it another two months, with me calling every few days..Than low and behold they call one day and say its all ready and they put a new carb on..Well i thought great so I go to use it and it works for 1 1/2 minutes than dies again... So I am disgusted now and it looks like a LEMON of a design..I know this because I have been using power equipment for twenty years and know this routuine of repair repair repair ,,marching off to dealers getting it fixed nonstop..Is this right? No it should just run...... Well its now apart in my garage the Einstiens forgot to put the gaskets back so I am thinking this is the problem..Well I order them from makita authorized shop and he says ok takes order and it has been 3 months now and nothing ! Wonderfull experience..

I WILL NEVER BUY A MAKITA PRODUCT AGAIN.I could care less if their power tools are decent the fact is they rushed worthless garbage to market in this blower that has massive design flaws ,,their makita authorized shops have no idea how to fix them and their parts network is dreadfull ! THEY HAVE AN ATTITUDE LIKE OK WE SOLD YOU THE BLOWER GOOD LUCK AND THEY WASH THEIR HANDS.

Avoid this blower...A note I think I have the carb compliant model. But does this mean there parts network, service dealers and the engine are ok? Hardly all a DISASTER ! What do I do with the pile of shiny new parts in my garage? I am not going to get caught up racing off to get the thing fixed every few days and have it sit in shop 2 months at a time than.

I am so sickened by Makita that I recently had to buy a power saw and grinder and saw Makita all over home depo I bought another brand needless to say in both cases !
